Data Deletion
Last updated: 3 May 2026. This page explains how to request deletion of your GymlyPal account and data.
1. Requesting Account Deletion
You can request deletion of your GymlyPal account and associated personal data by contacting support@gymlypal.com from the email address linked to your account.
If you are logged in, you can use the Close Account option in your settings page. You will need to confirm your current password and type a confirmation word before the account is closed.
2. What Can Be Deleted
Deletion may include your account profile, name, username, email address, routines, workout logs, set and rep history, pal connections, friend requests, shared plans, preferences and related personal data.
Some information may be anonymised rather than deleted if it is needed to preserve service integrity without identifying you.
3. Information We May Need to Keep
We may retain limited records where required for legal, tax, billing, fraud prevention, security, dispute resolution or compliance reasons. For example, subscription transaction records may need to be retained even after an account is deleted.
4. Verification
To protect your account, we may ask for information to verify that the request comes from the account holder. We will not intentionally disclose account data to someone who cannot verify their authority to request deletion.
5. Timing
We aim to respond to deletion requests within a reasonable period and, where GDPR applies, within the required legal timeframe. Complex requests, security issues or legal retention duties may take longer.
6. Cancelling Paid Subscriptions
Deleting an account does not always automatically cancel an active subscription at the payment provider level. If you have a paid subscription, please cancel it through the billing portal or contact us so we can help direct you to the correct cancellation process.
